I once worked aboard the ships that arrive to the coast of Antofagasta, I remember that smell of salt on the ship’s ropes when it docked in the port, that trip from the jetty where we got on the boat that would take us to the merchant ship, the boat lifted That musty smell of the sea, while the waves hit the rocks with algae. A whole olfactory spectacle full of marine fragrance, it was an adrenaline rush as we plowed through swells.
